Book Reading Session at Lucknow Campus
Book reading sessions are more than just gatherings—they’re portals to imagination, knowledge, and connection. Whether it’s a cozy library nook or a bustling auditorium, the atmosphere hums with anticipation.
At Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, the Library Committee organised a Book Reading Session to celebrate the "National Library Day". The session was held under the guidance of Dr. Pallavi Srivastava (Chairperson, Library), to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, widely regarded as the Father of Library Science in India.
The session commenced with an address by Dr. Pallavi Srivastava who welcomed everyone and shared the importance of the day and the habit of book reading.
Dr. Kavita Pathak (Director of the JIM-Lucknow) and Dr. Sushma Vishnani (Dean Academics) shared their personal literary favorites, weaving together tales of inspiration and intellectual exploration.
The event featured the following participants and their selected books:

- Nancy Pushpad: Outliers
- Mansi Khare: Ramayana Unrivalled

- Aadesh Singh: Doglapan
Each participant was given 10 minutes to discuss their chosen book. The event featured participants engaging in discussions about their selected books, sharing the reasons behind their choice, and summarizing the key themes. Participants also cited impactful lines and paragraphs from the books that inspired them. Additionally, they highlighted management lessons derived from their readings. The conversation extended to important topics such as sustainability and climate change, as well as strategies for managing finances and life. The discussion also covered aspects of risk management. The audience also contributed their perspectives to the discussion.
The session culminated with presenting certificates and a book to the participants. Book reading proved to be an enriching and informative experience, motivating all attendees to cultivate the habit of reading and expand their knowledge base. It reinforced the crucial lesson that the habit of reading is essential for budding managers, as it broadens their knowledge and positions them a step ahead in their professional journey.
