Talaash’24: Khoj Hunar Ki

“Talaash” is one of the most awaited events held at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow.  It aims at providing junior students with a platform to explore their hidden talents as they embark on their new journey. ‘Talaash 24 – Khoj, Hunar Ki!’ was organized under the guidance of Dr. Rashmi Chaudhary (Dean, Student Affairs) and was coordinated by the Student Development Council 2024
 

The Voice

On 8th July, Talaash’24 kickstarted excitement which reached new levels with ‘The Voice’, a mesmerising singing competition where the students showcased their vocal prowess and had a chance to refine their performance skills under the spotlight.
 

The event was coordinated by Ms. Anushka Agarwal (Student Coordinator, Cultural Committee) and anchored by Mr. Rohan Singh Chauhan (Student, JIML) and Mr. Anurag Srivastava (Senior Member, Cultural Committee). The judges for the event were Prof. Anjali Tiwari (Chairperson, Cultural Committee), Mr. Omesh Srivastava and Ms. Komal Pandey (Office of Student Affairs).

 

Bid Mavericks (Round 1)

The second event was the first round of its event ‘Bid Mavericks’. The teams were given a hypothetical budget of Rs. 30 crore to strategically invest in goods, services, and patents. They had to use their financial, market research, and risk assessment abilities to make smart investments that maximized profits and business growth.

 

It was coordinated by Ms. Samarpita Mitra (Student Coordinator, Academics Program Committee). The event was judged by Prof. Sujit Patra and Prof. Chandraketu Singh (Faculty, Jaipuria Lucknow) who evaluated the students based on their creativity and skills.
 

‘Can You Find the Treasure’

The third event of the day was ‘Can You Find the Treasure’, and was well coordinated by Ms. Aananya (Student Coordinator, Domain Forum Committee- Business Analytics) and Mr. Aditya Sharma (Student Coordinator, Domain Forum Committee- Operations Management). Teams of three tackled a series of tasks within a set time. The first team to solve all the clues and find the treasure was declared the winner. This event tested students' problem-solving, communication, and conflict-resolution skills. The competition was done in two rounds, i.e, Kahoot Quiz and Treasure Hunt.
 

Day 2 of “Talaash’23: Khoj Hunar Ki!” | 9th July 2024

 

Cinewalk

On 9th July, Talaash’24 kicked off with a wave of excitement that reached new heights with the highly anticipated event, ‘CINEWALK.’ This unique and creative challenge invited participants to transform old newspapers into stunning, wearable outfits.

 

The event was coordinated by Mr. Ritick Chauhan (Student Coorinator, Student Welfare & Disciplinary Committee), Mr. Saurabh Singh (Student Coordinator, Social Responsibility Committee). The judges for the event were Prof. Kajal Srivastava (PAN Area Chair, Business Communication and Liberal Arts), Prof. Vijay Lakshmi Singh (Chairperson - HR & OB Area).

 

Innovation Ignition

On Day 2, Innovation Ignition aimed to stimulate creativity, communication, and strategic thinking by challenging participants to analyze and enhance the market potential of new products slated for launch in the near future.


It was coordinated by Mr. Aniket Mishra (Student Coordinator, Placement & Corporate Relations Committee). The event was judged Prof. Himanshu Misra (Chairperson, Placement & Corporate Relations Committee), Mr Gaurav Maurya –(Campus Placement & Corporate relations), Mrs. Shobhana Tiwari (deputy manager , Placement & Corporate Relations Committee), who evaluated the students based on their creativity and skills.
 

 Bid Mavericks (Round 2)

The third event, was the Second round titled "Trailblazers". It was coordinated by Ms. Samarpita Mitra (Student Coordinator, Academics Program Committee). Prof. Chandraketu Singh (Faculty, Jaipuria Lucknow) who evaluated the students based on their creativity and skills.

 

Participants enthusiastically embarked on a challenge where they prepared concise presentations, limited to 4 slides, focusing on a procured item from the mandatory category.

 

Their objective was to conduct a thorough analysis of past shortcomings, strategically outline effective solutions, and propose innovative ideas aimed at revitalizing the item for a successful re-launch.

Corporate Conundrum

The first event of 10th July 2024 was "Corporate Conundrum - A Case Study Showdown" and the event coordinator were Mr. Divyansh Srivastava (Coordinator, Domain Forum Committee- Marketing) and Ms. Gargi Tiwari (Coordinator, Domain Forum Committee- Finance). The judge for the event was Ms. Yusra Fatima (Senior Member, Alumni Relations Committee). In "The Corporate Conundrum," participants engaged in intense brainstorming and collaborative problem-solving with real-world case studies that tested their abilities.
 

 Best Manager – Round 1

The second event of the third day of Talaash-24 was “The Best Manager” and the coordinator of the event was Mr. Aniket Gupta (Coordinator, Incubation Cell). It tested the participants under pressure and how they handled conflicts. Participants faced challenging interview scenarios to show their communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, which are essential for managers. The competition was evaluated by a distinguished panel of 6, with each panel consisting of two judges.

 

It provided a unique opportunity for young talents to showcase their abilities and shine as aspiring leaders. The top 10 participants qualified for the second round of the event which was held on day 5 of the competition.

 

Kirdar

The third event of the third day of Talaash-24 was “Kirdar". It was an extraordinary theatrical event that celebrated the art of monologues. Participants delivered solo scenes, immersing themselves in their characters while imagining the presence of another. The event was well coordinated by Ms. Anushka Agarwal (Coordinator, Cultural Committee). The event was judged by Prof. Anjali Tiwari (Chairperson, Cultural Committee), Ms. Komal Pandey (Office of Student Affairs).

 

Day 4 of “Talaash’23: Khoj Hunar Ki!”

 

Around The World

The first event of 11th July 2024 was “Around the World”, a team competition with two exciting rounds. The event was coordinated by Ms. Kirti Jagwani (Coordinator, International Relations Committee) and was judged by Prof. Nishtha Malik (Co-chair, International Relations Committee) and Aditya Jaiswal (Alumni, President 2022-2024).
 

The first round consisted of a challenging quiz designed to test the participants' knowledge about various aspects of art, music, literature, mythology, customs, famous personalities, and famous quotes from different countries across the globe.
 

In the second round, teams got brand names from various countries and had 5-10 minutes to prepare a persuasive pitch. This tested their creativity, persuasive skills, and marketing acumen.

 

DRAWASAURUS - Draw it & Get it

"DRAWASAURUS - Draw it & Get it" was coordinated by Ms. Malika Kaur (Student Coordinator, Hostel and Mess Committee) and judged by Mr. Khalid Samadi and Pranjali Mishra (Senior member, Hostel and Mess Committee). This single-round, team-based competition promised to be fun and interactive, challenging participants' knowledge of brands, movies, and food items from around the world.

 

Teams consisting of 3-4 members participated in the event. One team member took on the role of the artist, while the other 2-3 members put their guessing skills to the test. The artist drew from a pool of 10 chits, with each chit providing a different word. The time allotted for guessing each chit was 30 seconds.
 

Footnotes

"The Soul's Hidden Language is Dancing." The last event of day 4 was "Footnotes" - solo dance competition. Participants had the chance to shine and light up the stage with their favorite dance styles during Footnotes. The event was coordinated by Ms. Anushka Agarwal (Student Coordinator, Cultural Committee) and judged by Prof. Shalini Singh (Chairperson, PGDM) and Ms. Isha Dubey (Alumni, Cultural Committee).

 

'Footnotes' comprised two rounds, each offering a unique challenge to the participants. In Round 1, dancers had the freedom to perform any dance style they excelled in, accompanied by a song of their choice.

In Round 2, the selected participants faced an intriguing twist. They were given a song at random and had to create their dance steps on the spot. This spontaneous challenge tested the dancers' adaptability and creativity, showing the true essence of their passion for dance.

Market Madness

The first event of 12th July 2024 was “Market Madness” and the coordinator and anchor for the event was Ms. Muskan Bansal (Student Coordinator, Alumni Relations Committee). It was an exciting and captivating event which provided them with a platform to navigate the complexities of the market, where they showcased their sharp decision-making abilities, adaptability to market fluctuations, and resource optimization for maximum profits. 

 

What’s In the Box

The second event of the day was “What’s In the Box”, and it was well coordinated by Mr. Rachit Diwakar (Student Coordinator, Domain Forum Committee-HR) and Ms. Aananya (Student Coordinator, Domain Forum Committee- Business Analytics). The competition was judged by Prof. Nilesh Tiwari (Faculty, Jaipuria Lucknow).
 

It was an exciting and informative event designed to challenge participants' knowledge and enhance their business communication skills.

 

This event wasn't just a test of knowledge; it celebrated effective communication and critical thinking.

 Best Manager (Round 2)

The last event of the day was the second round of the interesting event ‘Best Manager’. It was coordinated and hosted by Mr. Aniket Gupta (Student coordinator, Incubation Committee). The event was judged by Prof. Rehan Hussain (Faculty, Jaipuria Lucknow), Prof. Jyoti Dewan (Chairperson, Incubation Committee), and Mr. Nikhar Agarwal (Manager, Incubation Committee) who evaluated the students based on their analytical thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving skills.

 

Each participant was given a Case Study, they had 10 minutes to analyze the case and formulate their thoughts and solutions on paper. The participants were required to express their understanding of the case and develop their ideas for the subsequent case discussion. After that, the participants were required to engage in a group discussion on a case relevant to the event's theme.
