On 15th November, at Jaipura Institute of Management, Jaipur, the much-anticipated Operations Conclave on "Supply Chain 4.0" unfolded. It brought together thought leaders, industry experts, faculty, and students to explore the themes of resilience, sustainability, and visibility in modern supply chain management. The event aimed to address the challenges of an increasingly interconnected world and the pivotal role of technology in transforming supply chains into engines of efficiency and sustainability.
The conclave began with a warm welcome by Dr. Srikant Gupta, Assistant Professor, who introduced the newly established Centre of Green Logistics at Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur. Highlighting the institute’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, Dr. Gupta underscored the critical need for resilient and green supply chain practices to build businesses that thrive in the face of global challenges. This initiative, he explained, aligns seamlessly with the institute’s mission to shape leaders capable of addressing the demands of the future.
The discussions were moderated by Dr. Lokesh Vijayvargiya, PAN Area Chair - Operations Management & Decision Science, who skilfully navigated a stimulating session featuring distinguished panellists, Sunil Choudhary, Vice President of WaVOIS Lab Pvt. Ltd., Prasun Choudhary, Founder of Daily Better, Pragati Sinha, Sustainability Consultant at Accenture, and Vaibhav Luhadia, Regional Manager at Apollo Tyres.
The session began with Sunil Choudhary, who stressed the importance of resilience in modern supply chains. He shared that the transition to Supply Chain 4.0 isn’t just about adopting advanced technologies like AI and automation but also about ensuring adaptability and fulfilling customer expectations. He emphasized how a proactive approach can help companies better navigate disruptions while maintaining operational excellence.
Prasun Choudhary delved into the fundamental principles of supply chain success: affordability, accessibility, and availability. He highlighted that solutions must always address customer needs, remarking, “If a solution does not address customer issues, it loses its purpose.” His insights offered a fresh perspective on the importance of customer-centricity in designing efficient supply chain processes.
Pragati Sinha shifted the discussion towards sustainability, emphasizing how technology simplifies processes and helps businesses achieve their environmental goals. She elaborated on the role of visibility and resilience, noting that supply chains today must operate at the intersection of profitability, environmental responsibility, and technological integration. Her thought-provoking address underscored that sustainability is no longer optional but a necessity for businesses.
Adding to the discussions, Vaibhav Luhadia shared how operations serve as the backbone of organizational success.
