On 16th October 2024, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur hosted the Business Analytics Conclave titled “Leading the Way: AI Excellence and Data Governance.” This event brought together industry leaders and Business Analytics professionals to discuss the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence (AI) and data governance, providing students with invaluable insights into these transformative fields.
The panel of experts included Ms. Jijy Oommen, Chief Technology Officer at Aavas Financiers Ltd., Mr. Aditya Kumar, Associate Director at CarDekho, and Ms. Chavi Chawla, Data Science Manager at TheMathCompany. Each panelist shared their expertise in applying business analytics to drive success within their respective industries.
The event began with a warm welcome to the guests, followed by an introduction to the theme by Dr. P. Mary Jeyanthi, Faculty, Business Analytics Area. The session was moderated by Dr. Usha Badhera, Area Chair, Business Analytics Area. The student anchors were Ms. Harsha Khandelwal and Ms. Jyotika Toshniwal.
The session commenced with experts sharing insightful examples, demonstrating how AI is leveraged across industries to tackle complex challenges. They emphasized AI's potential as a powerful problem-solving tool, capable of transforming various aspects of business operations. As the discussion progressed, the experts addressed pressing issues around data privacy and bias, sharing how businesses are adopting robust data governance practices to manage these challenges while upholding AI excellence.
The session also featured an engaging Q&A round, where students inquired about balancing AI innovation with data security and about essential skills for future leaders. One key question asked was: What skills should students develop, and how can they gain practical experience through live projects and internships in this field? The experts underscored the importance of hands-on experience through internships and live projects as crucial for staying competitive in the AI and analytics space.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Usha Badhera, who highlighted the Institute's commitment to remaining at the forefront of innovation, ensuring that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to thrive in a dynamic, tech-driven world. The discussions, combined with thoughtful audience participation, made the conclave a truly enriching experience for all attendees.
