On September 06, 2024, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur hosted an HR Conclave on, “Reinventing HRM in the Age of AI”. The event brought together industry leaders and HR professionals, for insightful discussions on innovative practices and the future of HRM in an AI-driven world. As a gesture of appreciation, each guest was presented with a green certificate.

The panel of experts included Mr. Sahil Nayar, Senior Associate Director HR, KPMG; Ms. Mekhola Ganguly, Senior GM - HRBP at Welspun and Mr. Abhishek Gupta, Head of HR at Zebpay. After welcoming the guests, the  theme of the conclave was introduced by Dr. Anvay Bhargava, Faculty Chair, OB/HR area. The session began with the question: How is AI affecting HR functions? The experts responded in an engaging manner, highlighting that AI is being utilized across all HR functions and industries. They emphasized that AI is limitless in its capabilities, serving as a problem solver and enabling the creation of personal brands, among other benefits.

As the session progressed, the panelists delved into the pros and cons of AI applications, such as ChatGPT. They provided a balanced view, asserting that "AI is both your partner and your mirror." The consensus was that AI doesn't replace human effort but works alongside it, enhancing the efficiency of HR processes. The discussion focused on how the key to success is not choosing between AI and human input, but rather learning how to leverage both effectively.

Students then raised questions about dealing with AI and concerns about privacy and data security, especially with the varying regulations in different countries. The experts advised students to take courses in AI and focus on upskilling to remain competitive in the corporate world. They also addressed concerns about AI's impact on personal data, emphasizing the importance of ethical AI use and data protection. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Aparna Mendiratta, faculty, HR & OB area.
