Stories That Shaped Us: Strengthening Bonds Beyond the Workplace-JIM Lucknow

On 16 October 2026, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, organised Stories That Shaped Us – Team Building & Team Bonding Initiative at Hotel Lineage. The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Sushma Vishnani, Director, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Lucknow, who emphasised the importance of teamwork, collaboration, and nurturing meaningful workplace relationships.

The programme featured team presentations in which participants shared personal stories and experiences, fostering mutual understanding, encouraging open communication, and strengthening interpersonal connections. Ten teams comprising faculty and staff members were formed, with each team assigned a theme drawn from important aspects of workplace relationships and collaboration. The themes included Trust, Resolving Disagreements, Taking Ownership, Welcoming and Supporting New Members, Communication, Adapting to Change, Handling a Crisis, Appreciating Each Other, Serving Students Together, and Synergy.

Through their presentations, the teams explored real-life experiences and situations, highlighting how trust, effective communication, mutual support, and shared responsibility contribute to a positive and productive work environment. The exercise also encouraged participants to appreciate one another’s perspectives, experiences, and contributions beyond their professional roles.

A key highlight of the initiative was the opportunity for faculty and staff to step away from their everyday routines and engage in shared experiences outside the workplace. This encouraged more personal interactions, helped participants develop a deeper appreciation for one another, and strengthened the spirit of camaraderie.

Beyond team building, outbound activities play an important role in cultivating a positive workplace culture where mutual respect, empathy, and a shared sense of purpose become integral to everyday interactions. The initiative reinforced the understanding that effective teams are built not only through professional collaboration but also through the relationships, trust, and shared experiences that unite their members.

The programme concluded with closing remarks by Dr. Sushma Vishnani, Director; Dr. Hemendra Gupta, Dean – Academics; Dr. Rashmi Chaudhary, Dean – Student Affairs; and Dr. Arti Chandani, Dean – Research, followed by lunch. The day wrapped up on a cheerful note with birthday celebrations, adding warmth and togetherness to an engaging and memorable team-bonding experience.
