Wisdom from Alumni – HR Session
On 26th August 2026, Jaipuria Institute
of Management, Lucknow, hosted a Wisdom from Alumni session featuring Mr.
Nasar Ashraf, an alumnus of the 2013–15 batch and currently working
as a Senior HR at RSA Global. The session was organised by the Alumni
Relations Committee (ARC) and focused on HR practices, employee
management, and real-world workplace challenges.
Mr. Ashraf explained Recruitment and
Selection and Competency Mapping, highlighting their importance in
identifying and developing the right talent. He also shared the key perspective
that “There’s no elimination in HR” and emphasised that “HR don’t
hustle, they make people hustle.”
A significant part of the session focused on POSH,
which was explained through real-life examples, helping students
understand its practical importance in the workplace. He also discussed the
challenges HR professionals face while dealing with sensitive situations,
including employees who may be violent or suicidal, drawing from his
professional experiences.
The session also covered Industrial
Relations and Employee Relations, giving students a practical
understanding of managing workplace relationships. The session concluded with
an emphasis on empathy, adaptability, people management, and practical
decision-making in the HR profession.
The interaction witnessed active participation from students and provided valuable practical insights into the realities of working in Human Resources. The session encouraged students to look beyond theoretical concepts and develop the interpersonal and professional skills required to become effective HR professionals.
