A two-day extravaganza on August 2 & 3, 2024, designed to ignite creativity and foster participation among students, was organised by the Event Management Committee at JIM-Indore. This vibrant Theme Day Event featured a series of unique themes, each inviting students to don imaginative costumes and engage in a variety of fun activities.

August 2: The themes were OTT & TV Character Day, Angel & Devil Day, and Kindergarten Day. The OTT & TV Character Day saw participants transform into their favourite characters from popular OTT platforms and TV shows, showcasing a plethora of vibrant costumes and meticulous makeup that highlighted their creativity and enthusiasm.

Angel & Devil Day inspired students to explore the duality of these timeless archetypes, with a range of interpretations from classic to modern, each costume reflecting the imaginative spirit of the participants. Kindergarten Day brought out the inner child in everyone, as students dressed in playful, colourful attire reminiscent of their early school days. Oversized bows, backpacks, and plush toys created a nostalgic and fun atmosphere, making the day a delightful trip down memory lane. The activities included a Costume Showcase, where participants strutted on stage to display their creativity and share the inspiration behind their outfits. Additionally, participants were asked to post their best costume photos on a drive provided by MRC for evaluation.

August 3: The excitement continued with themes like Oldies Day, Cultural & Traditional Day, and Retro Day. Oldies Day celebrated the fashion and style of past decades, with participants donning vintage attire that paid homage to bygone eras.

Cultural & Traditional Day provided an opportunity for students to showcase their heritage through traditional attire from various cultures, fostering an appreciation for diversity.

Retro Day brought back the essence of the 60s, 70s, and 80s, with bell bottoms, polka dots, and neon colours making a vibrant comeback. The day’s activities featured a Fashion Parade, where participants walked the runway, embodying their chosen era or cultural attire with confidence and flair. The event concluded with a lively music and dance session, where students danced to hits from various eras, perfectly rounding off the Retro Day theme.

The Theme Day Event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. It fostered creativity, cultural appreciation, and community spirit, as participants enjoyed exploring different themes, expressing themselves through costumes, and celebrating diversity. The positive feedback received by the Event Management Committee underscored the event’s impact, with many attendees eagerly anticipating future-themed events.
